Worker's Compensation - Injured on The JobNew Jersey law provides that an employee injured in the work place is entitled to compensation from the employer including payment of lost wages and medical expenses due to the accident, and additional compensation if the injury is permanent. The law does not require the employee to prove that the injury was the employer’s fault. Simply showing that the injury occurred at the work place is sufficient to entitle the employee to compensation. Where the accident occurs due to the negligence of someone other than the employer or the employee, (e.g., an employee making a delivery is injured in a car accident or an employee cutting lumber is injured by a defective saw blade), the employee may seek additional compensation for the injuries, pain and suffering.
